Privacy Notice

What Memory Currents collects, how we use it, and how to contact us about your information.

Last updated: October 26, 2026

Who operates Memory Currents

Memory Currents operates this service. For privacy questions, requests about your information, or an account-deletion request, email support@memorycurrents.com.

This notice explains how we handle information when you use Memory Currents. The Data Policy explains storage, AI processing, export, and what can remain after a deletion request.

Information we collect

We collect the information you give us and records created while providing the service:

  • Your content: Memories you save or import, their source captures, and the Thoughts, Currents, Streams, tags, and connections created from or added to them.
  • Account and sign-in information: your display name, email address, sign-in records, preferences, and the phone numbers or email addresses you link for saving Memories. Connecting an AI application also creates records of the applications you authorize.
  • Support and feedback: what you send us, including suggestions and the page a suggestion came from. Your message may contain identifying details or content you choose to share.
  • Usage and operational information: counts, timings, delivery and processing records, records used to prevent duplicate email processing or abuse, and service logs. Some logs contain account identifiers, email addresses, or network addresses. Processing records and database errors can also contain words you submitted.
  • Browser diagnostics: errors, where they happened in our code, the kind of page you were on, and a temporary browser-generated identifier used to group related errors. Reports omit account identity fields, reduce page addresses to the kind of page, and remove text inside quotes, parentheses, or brackets from error messages. Other error text can still contain personal information.

If you save by SMS or email, the delivery services also handle the message and sender information needed to receive it. If you connect an AI application, it receives the information requested through the tools you authorize.

How we use information

We use your stored content to operate and support Memory Currents. We use it for product improvement only with your explicit consent. We may use aggregate usage information to improve the product.

Operating the service includes saving and finding your Memories, organizing related information, powering AI features, signing you in, delivering account messages, and maintaining reliability and security. Support includes investigating a problem you report. Keeping your content for later product evaluations requires separate permission covering that content and purpose; saving a Memory or accepting the general agreement is not that permission.

Authorized operators can access content when needed to operate and support Memory Currents. This is an operating practice, not a promise that people are technically unable to read content or that we ask before every support read.

We do not sell your memories or other content, or use them for advertising. We may disclose information when required by applicable law.

Who receives information

We use other companies to provide the service:

  • Amazon Web Services runs our services, stores source captures and operational records, and receives incoming email. Neon runs the database containing content, account information, operational records, and feedback.
  • Anthropic processes content to help split Memories into Thoughts, describe them, and organize related information. Requests also carry a scrambled account identifier that is consistent across requests, allowing Anthropic to recognize requests from the same account for abuse detection. It is not anonymous.
  • Google Gemini processes Memory, Thought, and Stream text to create embeddings: numerical representations that help us recognize related information.
  • Twilio receives SMS messages and sender phone numbers. Postmark sends account email, such as address confirmations and password resets, using your email address.
  • Cloudflare serves our websites and protects access to internal tools through which operators can read feedback.
  • Grafana Cloud holds service measurements, alerts, and database logs, and lets operators view service logs. Database errors can include fragments of submitted content or account information; service logs can contain identifying information.
  • Sentry receives filtered browser diagnostics and site-availability checks. incident.io receives diagnostic and service alerts so our team can respond to problems.
  • Stytch, if you turn on AI connections, handles authorization for connected AI applications. It receives your email address, account and routing identifiers, and records of approved applications. It does not receive your Memories or Currents through these authorization requests.

An AI application you separately connect, such as Claude or ChatGPT, has its own terms and data practices. The Data Policy explains this distinction.

These companies may process information in countries other than the one where you live. We do not promise that all processing stays in the United States.

Your choices and requests

You can edit Memories, manage linked channels and AI connections, and export the information supported by the app. Archiving a Memory sets it aside; it does not erase it. See the Data Policy for export limits.

Depending on the law that applies to you, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of personal information, or to withdraw consent for a particular use. Contact support@memorycurrents.com with your request or questions about those rights.

There is no in-app account-deletion control. Contact support to request account deletion. Our current process cannot completely remove a live account and its data from every system. Sending a request does not mean that your account or all copies of your information have been erased, and we do not promise one deletion deadline for every category.

Records that can remain include those used to route sign-ins and link contact channels, feedback containing identifying words, and recent processing history containing your words. Records preventing the same email from being processed twice can retain an email address until their storage service deletes them. Temporary delivery and retry records, failed-processing records, abuse-prevention counters, operational logs, and recovery copies can also remain outside the account-removal process. The Data Policy describes these categories and their different limits.

Feedback

By sending feedback, you agree that we may use it to improve Memory Currents. This permission covers the feedback you submit, not your other stored content. Feedback may remain after account deletion until the operator removes it. Removing its account link does not anonymize identifying information you typed into it. Contact support if you want to request removal of feedback.

Security and health information

We restrict service and operator access, and make significant efforts so that your information will not be lost, accessed without authorization, or exposed. We recommend that you keep a separate copy of information that matters to you. The current export is not a complete account backup.

Memory Currents is not HIPAA compliant. You decide whether to enter personal health information. We do not provide special handling for health information; the storage, AI processing, retention, and deletion practices described here apply to it too.
