Product Principles

The four ideas that guide the kind of product Memory Currents is becoming.

These principles guide how Memory Currents develops. They describe what we are working toward; they are not a promise that every capability is available today.

Ubiquitous

Remember something where it happens. Saving and finding information should fit the places where you already work and think, rather than depend on remembering to open one particular app. Connections such as SMS and Email are steps toward that aim. More surfaces can follow over time.

Self-Organizing

Saving something should be easier than deciding where to file it. Memory Currents aims to help related Memories come together, reveal themes, and develop into useful Currents. You should be able to recognize and shape those connections as your understanding grows.

Portable, Durable Second Brain

The things you remember should remain useful over the long term, beyond a particular screen or integration. Preservation and portability guide the product's direction. A readable export is one part of that aim; it does not mean every part of your account is included in an export today.

Your Data Is Yours

Your information belongs to you. It should be private and protected. The product should give you meaningful ways to find it, correct it, remove it, and take a copy with you. This principle guides those choices; the individual guides explain the controls and limits available now.
